As Inmarsat launches Global Xpress (GX), the first high-speed broadband network to span the world,
its ultra-fast broadband connectivity on land, at sea and in the air promises to transform maritime

Singtel has distinguished itself as the top Inmarsat regional distribution partner in Asia. On 7 April,
Singtel marked yet another milestone as Inmarsat’s first global value-added reseller in Asia
to offer the Fleet Xpress Service.
To mark the occasion, Singtel customers were invited to the launch event by Singtel and Inmarsat held
at the Bukit Timah Satellite Earth Station. More than 30 customers learnt how Fleet Xpress,
the first globally available, high-speed broadband solution for maritime and offshore operators
from a single communications provider, will set a new standard for maritime communications.
Customers were also treated to a live demonstration of Fleet Xpress at the Satellite Solutions
Centre, followed by an antenna tour.

Boosting Global Maritime Cyber Security with Strong Inmarsat Partnership
As maritime companies becomes more ICT driven with the move into ‘smart shipping’, their fleet’s on board intelligence,
system infrastructure and networks, and ship-shore communications, become increasingly vulnerable to malicious attacks.
Singtel recently announced its strategic partnership with Inmarsat to strengthen global maritime cyber security capabilities.
Software-based unified threat management (UTM) from Trustwave, its cyber security arm, will integrate with Inmarsat hardware
onboard ships and delivered via Fleet Xpress, Inmarsat’s first globally available, high-speed broadband solution for maritime
and offshore operators. The new service will be launched in the second half of 2016.
