Powering More Efficient and Cost-Effective Fleet Management
|
Singtel and Alpha Ori have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The collaboration, which combines secured broadband satellite with cyber security and IoT applications, will enable maritime companies to manage their fleet more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Alpha Ori’s on-board automated SMARTShip IoT solution helps maritime companies track and analyse more than 5,000 data points from ship’s navigation, engine performance to cargo handling systems. This provides increased visibility for faster and timelier decision-making. Data transmitted between ship and shore would be secured using Singtel’s Fleet Xpress high-speed satellite broadband service.

Nurturing the future of Maritime community : Singtel Signs MOU With Singapore Maritime Academy
|
Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) of Singapore Polytechnic (SP) has received the Special Mention award at the Singapore International Maritime Awards 2017 in April, recognising its contributions in shaping Singapore’s maritime education and training landscape. As one of its key industry partners, Singtel is pleased to further cement our relationship with SMA with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 20 September 2017, at its biennial maritime technology event, Martech 2017.
The MOU aims to raise awareness and promote the development of satellite communications and IT application know-how in the maritime community. Leveraging both Singtel and SMA’s expertise, the collaboration focuses on 3 key initiatives which includes collaborative visits and trainings at the Singtel Satellite Solutions Centre at Bukit Timah, joint participation in industry talks and events and customised internship opportunities for SMA’s Maritime students.
